Join Valdeku Youth Centre as an ESC Volunteer!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Volunteer Period:<\/strong>\u00a0September 2026 \u2013 August 2027 (11 months)<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Valdeku Youth Centre, N\u00f5mme District, Tallinn, Estonia<\/p>\n

About Valdeku Youth Centre<\/h3>\n

Valdeku<\/span>\u00a0Youth Centre is hosting 1 volunteer from September 2025- July 2026 (11 months).\u00a0<\/span>Valdeku<\/span>\u00a0youth\u00a0<\/span>centre<\/span>\u00a0is one of the 2 youth\u00a0<\/span>centres<\/span>\u00a0in N\u00f5mme district of Tallinn. The youth\u00a0<\/span>centre<\/span>\u00a0offers different services to young\u00a0<\/span>people<\/span>\u00a0out of which open youth work is the most important. Besides\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0we organize workshops, events, school break\u00a0<\/span>programmes<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>camps<\/span> and school packets for schools. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Our focus\u00a0<\/span>is involving<\/span>\u00a0young people and\u00a0<\/span>offer<\/span>\u00a0activities based on what they need and want.\u00a0<\/span>The main activity for the volunteer is to communicate\/talk\/play with the youngsters <\/span>on a daily basis<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0Also help with hobby activities and organizing workshops, culture evenings and other activities that the volunteer can bring to the hosting\u00a0<\/span>organisation<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Accommodation & Financial Support<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Housing: Volunteers live in a shared apartment, with a shared kitchen and bathroom, free WIFI, own bed, may have to share a room<\/li>\n
  • Local Transport: Free of charge for volunteers.<\/li>\n
  • International Travel Grant: Based on distance, up to 580\u20ac for round-trip tickets.<\/li>\n
  • Visa & Exceptional Costs (resident card..etc): Covered when applicable.<\/li>\n
  • Pocket Money: 5\u20ac per day (per ESC guidelines).<\/li>\n
  • Food Allowance: 6\u20ac per day to cover meal expenses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Training & Support<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Training during the opportunity: The Estonian National Agency provides on-arrival training where you\u2019ll meet fellow ESC volunteers and learn essential information about living in Estonia. A mid-term evaluation offers the opportunity to reflect on your experience and connect with other volunteers. You\u2019ll have a dedicated mentor providing regular guidance and support for both personal and project-related matters. AEYC will introduce you to open youth work principles, ensuring you understand our inclusive approach and develop practical skills for working with young people.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Please make sure to connect with a sending organization from your departure country and build a relationship with them. That will be crucial for you to feel at ease when arriving and they will offer you support during your exchange year.<\/em><\/p>\n

      What are we Looking For<\/h3>\n

      • Passion for working with young people aged\u00a07\u201326<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      • Open-minded attitude towards\u00a0genders, climate, LGBTQI+, politics, and inclusion<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      • A Team player\u00a0<\/strong>ready to adapt and share responsibilities.<\/li>\n
      • Enthusiasm for youth engagement and supporting young people\u2019s ideas.<\/li>\n
      • Experience in community-focused activities is a plus.<\/li>\n
      • Creativity in sports, music, arts, or digital tools is a bonus!<\/li>\n
      • Strong communication skills in English and basic digital literacy (Teams, Outlook, MS Office, Discord).<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Self-initiative someone who is motivated to develop and lead their own activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        NB! No prior experience in youth work is required!<\/em>\u00a0We value motivation and a willingness to learn. We have hosted ESC volunteers every year since 2014, aged between 18\u201330.<\/p>\n

        Your Role & Responsibilities<\/h3>\n

        Work Hours:<\/strong>\u00a0Monday\u2013Friday,\u00a06-hour shifts<\/strong>\u00a0(either 11:00\u201317:00 or 13:00\u201319:00).\u00a0\u00a0Main Workspace:<\/strong> Valdeku Youth Centre, N\u00f5mme, Tallinn.<\/p>\n

        Daily Tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Greet and welcome youngsters, creating a safe and welcoming environment.<\/li>\n
        • Engage in conversations and activities with young people.<\/li>\n
        • Support digital work, such as sharing youth information online and creating visuals.<\/li>\n
        • Identify young people\u2019s interests and create a regular hobby class.<\/li>\n
        • Organize workshops, cultural events, and community activities.<\/li>\n
        • Communicate with young people on a daily basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
